TV icon tutorial

Step1: Choose your icon base
or 
credit to ihearttoronto at DA
Step2: Choose your desired image to be displayed on the TV
*resize if you need to and desaturate (ctrl+shift+u)

Step 3: Paste over TV and set to mulitply for now (change back to normal after cropping)

Step4: Crop around the screen with the polygonal lasso tool

Step5: "select inverse" and delete. Set layer back to normal

Step6: Duplicate layer 5 or 6 times
Step7: On each layer select fliter > noise > add noise

*amount = every layer is different (between 5% - 15%)
* select monochromatic

You can stop here if you like or go on to make it an animated icon...
Step8: In Adobe Image ready add 5 or 6 new frames (depending on how many layers you created)

Step9: Starting at frame 2, deselect layer's visibility and repeat as you change frames and layers
So for frame 3 the top 2 layers won't be visible
and for frame 4 the top 3 layers won't be visible...

Step10: Select all frames and change speed to 0.1 seconds per frame


All done!

1. Crop base and resize to 150 x 150

2. Sharpen (Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen) and add a fill layer of #ffd267. Set to Multiply 70%.

3. Color Balance layer (Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Color Balance).
Midtones: 0, 0, +36
Highlights: -13, +13, -33

4. New fill layer of # e9a4b0. Set to Color Burn 25%.

5. Selective coloring (Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Selective Coloring).
REDS: -70, +32, +52, 0
YELLOWS: +40, -76, -80, +14
NEUTRALS: +60, 0, -46, -15
Set this layer to screen, 70%.

6. New fill layer of #d2d7da. Set to Color Burn 65%

7. Merge all layers and resize to 100 x 100. (Sharpen again if you like)

8. Duplicate base and add a radial blur (Filter > Blur > Radial Blur).
Amount: 14
Blur Method: Spin
Quality: Good

9. Using a soft brush eraser, erase around the face / main feature.

10. Adjust the top layer's Hue / Saturation (Image > Adjustments > Hue / Saturation)
Hue: -13
Master: +30
Lightness: +38

11. Lastly, add this texture
(so sorry I don't know who its by) and set to Color Burn 100%

And you're done! You can add text and brushes if you wish.
Share your results if you want too!

4. Add new selective coloring layer

5. Add a new fill layer of #D7D7D7 and set to color burn 100%

6. Add new selective coloring layer
REDS: -100, 0, +100, 0
YELLOWS: +100, 0, -100, 0
NEUTRALS: +10, 0, -10, -10
7. Resize image to 100px by 100px and Sharpen again.

Selective Colouring Icon Tutorial

Okay this is my first tut so be nice! :D
NOTE: works best with light / light background images.
Step 1: Crop your base and duplicate it. Set to Soft Light 40%

Step2: Selective Color layer:
REDS: -100, +23, +100, 0
YELLOWS: +100, 0, -100, 0
NEUTRALS: +37, +31, -35, - 37

Step3: Selective Color Layer:
REDS: -100, 0, +100, 0

Step 4: Selective Color Layer:
REDS: -40, 0, 0, 0
NEUTRALS: +10, 0, 0, 0

Step 5: Fill Layer with #71E5A2

Set to Soft Light 57%

Step 6: Add this texture (made by graven_rose)

Set to Multiply 40%
You can erase the parts over the face / main parts with a soft texture brush if you want
Step 7: Merge all layers (ctrl+alt+e) and copy and paste your image into a new window.
Then resize it to 22pxls by 22 pxls
Drag three copies into your main icon and arrange in a row like so:

Then add a stroke to each mini square (make sure you stroke the inside not the outside)

Step 8: With your first min square, go Image: Adjustments: Hue/Saturation. Then saturate +30
With the second min square, go Adjustments: Hue/Saturation. Then saturate -15
Then with the third mini square, desaturate (ctrl+alt+u)

Add text or mini text if you want!
